With so much to see and do this audio guide will show you all the sites.

New Zealand’s biggest city, Auckland sprawls over the isthmus it encompasses. It is the focal point for the larger Auckland region. With harbours east and west of the Auckland isthmus, opportunities abound for sailing, fishing, kayaking, surfing, swimming and beach idling.

Volcanoes are a conspicuous feature of the city landscape. Within a radius of about 20km centred on Auckland city there are 49 discrete volcanoes. Maoris used them as living places and fortification (pa) sites and their soil for growing vegetables for early Auckland.

Within Auckland there is much that is interesting in the small area where the city started in the hills above the reclaimed land that is now the foreshore. The central city audio guides include a walk through this area. Individual guides for a number of attractions provide an insight into Auckland’s history.

Auckland's lifestyle and character are influenced by its proximity to the Hauraki Gulf with the islands of Rangitoto, Waiheke, Tiritiri Matangi and Kawau all relatively close to the City.

Ferries allow visitors to reach these islands as well as Devonport across the Waitemata Harbour from Auckland City.

The audio guides also tell you how in the Waitakere ranges to the west of Auckland and in the area to the north you can find walking tracks, surfing beaches, canyoning, diving in a marine reserve and wineries to visit.
