About Sandry's Book #1
When four strange, and strangely talented, youngsters are brought to Winding Circle by master mage Niko they find themselves drawn together in a Circle of Magic a circle that binds them despite their differences. Together they learn and use their newfound magical abilities. All four have ambient magic, as opposed to academic magic, and the power they use comes from ordinary things all around them. Sandry has magic with threads, Tris with weather, Daja with smithing, and Briar with plants.

About the Circle Of Magic Series
In a fantasy set in mythical lands surrounding the Pebbled Sea, four orphaned or unwanted children from various backgrounds are brought to Winding Circle Temple by Niklaren Goldeye, who sees, in each, inborn magic hidden to others. There, under the tutelage and care of mages Lark, Rosethorn, Frostpine and Niko, their special gifts blossom along with their insights into themselves and each other. Called upon to do battle with evils wrought by nature and man, Sandry, a nobly born thread mage, Tris, a merchant weather mage, Daja, a Trader smith mage and Briar, a "street rat" plant mage, spin their magics and themselves together, making them stronger and forever binding them together. Empowered by challenges faced and overcome, they grow in stature and spirit as their magics, initially fed by hate and bitterness, defy all known boundaries when ultimately fired by love and compassion.

Tamora Pierce, America's most popular writer of young adult fantasy novels, weaves her own special magic in the opening volume of her wildly popular Circle of Magic quartet. Tammy herself narrates this recording, supported by a cast of nearly thirty actors, including Bruce Coville appearing as Niko. The rich web of voices bring this intricate story to life in a way that listeners will never forget.

Reviews
Sandry's Book is a wonderful fantasy story and the Full-Cast Audio presentation puts listeners right in the middle of the action. This is less a reading of the book than a full-blown radio production with different actors portraying the different characters. Voices are full of expression and pacing is brisk. The narrator is the author herself, and Bruce Coville provides one of the voices. The tape includes an author interview explaining where she first got the idea for the series. This enthralling production will be enjoyed by both children and adults.
3 Librarian's Eyeglasses (Highest Rating) __The Shy Librarian Spring 2003

Full Cast Audio used almost 30 actors in this presentation, and the result is an exceptional match between the voices and the character descriptions, including children's characters being voiced by children. The resulting authenticity helps bring the world of Emelan to life. High production values are also seen in the musical accents and sound quality .
