Rome’s Spanish Steps to Trevi Fountain
Italy is about style and this walk has it all. La Dolce Vita! Experience film locations, designer shopping and artists working away in their studios and coffee amongst the Canova's statues. Starting at the Spanish Steps, we'll explore the Piazza di Spagna, and we'll show you where film director, Fellini lived in Rome. You'll hear about some of the English romantic poets who lived in this area, before moving along via the best ice-cream in Rome, to finish at that great big fountain splashing its heart out just for you.
On this tour you will visit: Spanish Steps, Via Condotti Gucci, Keats Shelley House, Canova, Tadolini, La Dolce Vita, Trevi Fountain
Starting point: Piazza di Spagna. Start at the top of the Spanish Steps.One of the best kept secrets in Rome is the elevator to the top of the steps.The elevator is by the Metro entrance just off Piazza di Spagna.
Transport: Bus or Metro to Spagna (line A)
Best days: Most shops are closed Sunday and some shops are closed Monday morning. Weekends are very busy at both the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps. San Crispino (ice-cream) is closed on Tuesdays.
Accessibility: Slightly challenging eg. streets with narrow or no pavements. Route goes down the Spanish Steps. It would be possible to use the elevator up and down and listen to tracks from the top and bottom only.
The Heart of Rome
Piazzas, Palazzos & Pizza! The heart of Rome is an outdoor art gallery with magnificent palaces, statues and sparkling fountains and Italians driving, shouting, gesturing and drinking coffee in between it all! You're invited to join them as you wander through theatrical squares and little cobbled streets. Piazza Navona and Campo di Fiore with it's colourful market, are on your route as is the amazing Roman temple, the Pantheon. Don't like art? You might after this walk! Don't like ice-cream? Sorry, there's no hope.
On this tour you will visit: Campo dei Fiore, Farnese Palace, Michelangelo, Bernini, San Luigi dei Francesi, Pantheon

Transport: Bus or taxi to Piazza Farnese
Best days: Campo dei Fiore food and flower market is open week days until about 2pm.If you intend going into churches in Rome, ensure you are not wearing shorts (or miniskirts) and have your shoulders covered. Many museums close on Mondays. Some shops are closed Monday morning.
Accessibility: slightly challenging eg. Cobbles and narrow streets with no pavements
Rome The Forum
From Julius Caesar to the Colosseum! The Roman Forum is the spiritual heart of one of the greatest civilisations the world has known. Let us bring life to the jumble of abandoned columns and broken masonry which romantically fill the Forum today. This is where Rome was born with Romulus and Remus. See where St Peter was imprisoned before execution. Julius Caesar was cremated on our walk, whilst the Vestal Virgins kindled the spiritual flame. Parade with victorious Emperors and vanquished opponents along the Via sacra finishing at the magnificent Colosseum.
On this tour you will visit: Capitoline Museums, The Colosseum, Carcere Mamertin, Roman Forum, Imperial Forum, Circo Massimo
Starting point: Top of the Capitoline Hill (Campidoglio Piazza)In Piazza Venezia, face Victor Emmanuel's huge marble memorial and walk to the right of it until you come to two staircases. Take the one with the wide shallower steps to the top. At the top is the Campidoglio Piazza the start of the walk.
Transport: Bus or taxi to Piazza Venezia
Best days: Any day. Forum is usually open 09.00 one hour before sunset. Avoid the heat of the day as there is little shade. Many of Rome's museums are closed on Mondays.
Accessibility: Poor. The Forum is an archaeological site with uneven surfaces and steps. Suitable footwear required.
